Although belief and faith have a great impact on what happens to us, we do not necessarily have to believe in angels to experience them. The invisible planes and their variety of occupants are much closer than most people imagine. Creation is not separated although it appears to be. The conscious thinking mind only assumes it is. Once a person has a one-on-one experience with angels, departed relatives, friends or luminous beings, the unknown becomes known. It is possible to receive guidance, help, healing and be rescued in times of urgent need. In asking for help, we are reaching out to an intelligence that we may or may not actually see. When people do see beings or visions from the subtle world, they may see what they expect. For instance, I think of wings as symbolic, a state of limitlessness. As a result, whenever angelic beings appear to me, they are minus wings. They are limitless simply by the fact that they are angels.

A long time ago, I read about St. Bartholomew who was one of the first who went on record stating that angels may be identified by a trailing and wonderful fragrance. The unexplained scent of roses or pines in the air may be a clue that an angel has passed by. He said that the refreshing smell of a rich pine forest is associated with angels on a healing mission. A sandalwood fragrance is associated with healing angels. Sandalwood is also associated with protection from negative energies. A scent may indicate angels who have come with creative and inspirational messages or suggestions. Personally, I have never detected a scent when angels are present. In other words, experiences differ and there are no set rules.

Angels appear in many sizes and colors. They usually look ageless and absolutely flawless. One of the ways that you may recognize an angel's presence is through a feeling of peace and warmth flowing through your mind and body. This can be true even if the angel is not seen. Their messages are clear and positive and not an experience that you would likely forget. One of the most stunning personal experiences occurred when I was alone and praying. I became aware of a large globe that looked like a vehicle of transportation. Within it stood three luminous beings. Their combined energy was so overwhelmingly beautiful and good that I immediately fell to my knees weeping in joy. I felt the room, including the floor, was holy ground. As mystical and sacred as this experience was for me, many angelic happenings are very practical and lifesaving.

I have always found it fascinating how the angels will briefly appear in human form to help us in a time of need. This amazing wonder has happened to me several times and to many others. For instance, several senior ladies that I know were driving on an isolated road in Wisconsin. When a flat tire occurred, they were at a loss as to what to do. Only a few minutes had elapsed and a young man appeared near the car asking my friend, Miriam, if she would like help with the tire. Of course, she said yes. In no time at all, the spare was put in place. Miriam turned her back to the man as she looked in her purse, which was sitting on the front seat. Although the stranger never asked for payment for his services, she wanted to thank him in some way for his generous act of kindness. When she was ready to hand him the money, he had disappeared. What was interesting about this incident is that the ladies were stuck in an isolated area and no cars, buildings or activity could be seen anywhere. It is safe to say that we need to pay closer attention to who walks unexpectedly into our lives. The individual may be an angel in disguise. Perhaps, you have already met an angel and did not recognize who it actually was.

I and my colleague were in Beijing for a business trip last month, it was the first time I was in the city, we had to attend a 3-day trade show, a seminar organized by a government agency, and visit 4 customers, the schedule is very tight. I had planned a 7 day stay, and I hoped to have some sightseeing after business in the last two days.

After I booked the flights and hotel, I started to plan my ground transportation; I was thinking to rent a car and drive around, but this did not turn out to be so easy in China.

First I searched for Beijing branch of major international car rental companies, I first tried on the website of Hertz, to my surprise, the largest car rental company did not offer any car rental service in China. Then I tried SIXT, the car rental company I often used in Europe, again I was disappointed, SIXT has only 3 pickup locations in Beijing, and only one model to offer, the price is also very high, and I can not pick up and return the car at airport.

Then I made some searches on Google for the local companies, with the keywords "Beijing car rental", unfortunately most of the results returned are Western companies who do not operate in China at all.

Just before I was about to give up, I ran into the website of a Beijing company that offers chauffeur and limousine services, it does not let you rent the car and drive for yourself, it only provides car with a driver, you pay the rent for the car and driver as one package. This seemed fine for me, so I checked out the price, the price was good, in Western countries limousine service is usually much more expensive than car rental, but in China there is no much difference, I guess its because of the low wage, then I talked to their online service guy and made reservation online.

This limousine service turned out to be perfect, we used 2 airport transfers and 6 days of rental, the car model we selected was a Buick mini-van, it was very spacy and had a high roof, we could pack all our luggage including some samples for the show easily yet had enough space to stretch legs, the total cost for all these rental and services were only USD 940.

After chatting with someone in the limousine company we realized why limousine service can be the best choice for ground transportation for foreign travelers:

First, for some policy reason, the international car rental companies are not able to offer extensive rental service in Chinese cities yet;

Second, it is extremely difficult for a foreigner to drive in Beijing roads, the roads are always congested, some drivers are wild if not crazy (as we have witnessed), and cars for rent do not have GSP system in English;

Third, going around by taxi is not easy for a foreigner too, as very few taxi drivers can understand English;

Fourth but also importantly, limousine service is cheap in China, so why bother to drive yourself while a professional can do it for you?

For all these reasons Id suggest foreign business travelers to use limousine service in Beijing, or car rental with driver ---- Im not sure how to call it as the cars are usually not stretch limo but regular sedans---- it is fast, efficient, and affordable, there is a little price to pay comparing with taxi, but it buys a lot of time and peace of mind.

5. They give back.

Which of my activities brings me fulfillment?

Which ones are time-sucks that are inhibiting my long-term vision or fulfillment goals?

What Type Of Pool Shock Should I Use

Swimming pool shock treatments are applied frequently to oxidize or "burn-up" excess chloramines, waste products and contaminants that accumulate in the pool water. Shocking the water is necessary, no matter which type of primary pool sanitizer is being used. The primary sanitizer becomes overburdened by the contaminant build-up. If the pool water looks dull or cloudy, most often this means the pool requires a shock treatment, but this is not always the case. Improper filtration or other chemical imbalance can also cause cloudy water. We also recommend occasionally using a chlorine-free pool shock such as monopersulfate, which is an oxygen-based shock, to remove all the chloramines. Some of the chloramines, including the organic type are not always destroyed completely by chlorine treatment. We recommend shocking your pool about once weekly, and more often after periods of rain, increased bather loads, and during long hot spells.

What type of shock treatment should you use? There are five types of shock or oxidizing agents used to chlorinated pools and spas. The type of pool shock that you choose to use is determined by how you choose to apply it into the water and will it case harm to the interior pool finish, such as concrete, fiberglass, vinyl liner, etc.

Potassium Monopersulfate (Oxygen based treatments) are non-chlorine oxidizers. Oxygen shock treatment is very good at removing excess contaminants and restoring the fighting power of chlorine sanitizers. Oxygen shock is also commonly called "safety shock" because pool bathers may safely return into the water about 15 minutes after treatment. There are no side effects on the pool water.

Sodium Di-Chlor [Di Chlor] is a granular form of stabilized chlorine that is 100% soluble. Di-Chlor may be used on all pool finishes without harm. It does not upset the pH balance of the water, cause foaming or require pre-dissolving. Because Di-chlor contains chlorine stabilizer (Cyanuric Acid) it will cause the stabilizer to build-up to an un-safe level. The pool will then have to be drained and refilled with fresh water when this occurs.

Lithium shock has the same properties as Di-chlor with one exception, it is not stabilized and therefore will not cause a high cyanuric acid level.

Sodium Hypochlorite is liquid and a strong bleach concentration. It is fast acting after addition to the water. It has an approximate 90-day shelf-life.

Calcium Hypochlorite [Cal-Hypo] is the most widely used and the strongest form of chlorine shock treatment. It is available in concentrations of: 47%, 65%, 68%, 73% or 78% available chlorine. This type may be used on all pool finishes, but it must be pre-dissolved before adding it into the water or it may bleach the color from a vinyl liner pool. It contains calcium that may cause temporary foaming or clouding. Cal-Hypo 47% available chlorine is a low-grade shock being sold primarily in many mass merchant stores. This product in our opinion should not be able to be labeled "Pool Shock". We consider the recommended dosage is too weak to achieve a true chlorine shock level of 5 to 10ppm in the water. It will require more of this product achieve the desired result. These blended products use special formula combinations and are being sold using various trade names. They all contain some chlorine blended with other chemicals like clarifiers. The sale of this product is not limited to just mass merchant stores.

The chemical manufacturers and suppliers embrace this blended product so strongly, that some have decided to discontinue stronger forms completely. Their reasoning has some merit. This is a safer class of oxidizer, so that increases handling safety, which in turn requires less governmental regulation, and increases their profits by helping to reduce many facets of the manufacturers overhead and transportation costs. That is all well and good, but pound for pound, the consumer will still have to pay a lot more to achieve the same result. We discourage the use of this type of product; not because it's a bad product, but only that it costs so much to effectively treat your pool. In many cases it costs the same or more than a full strength chlorine treatments! You have a choice to spend money more wisely.
