Construction began in 1925 and a year later, the Congress Theatre, designed by the architectural company Fridstein & Company, was complete. In 2002, the Congress Theatre was designated a Chicago landmark and is regarded as one of the most intact movie venues from the 1920s. Designed in Italian Renaissance style, this 2,904 seat auditorium was meticulously detailed in terra cotta. Originally, the Congress Theatre encompassed several tangible addresses and the building included apartments and stores all under the same roof. Whether it is the red carpet that adorns the staircase to the balcony from the lobby or the saucer domed ceiling that you have to lean your head back to completely view, there is beauty to behold in the Congress Theatre.
Today, many musical venues are still being held in this architectural wonder that started out as a movie house. The address has been narrowed down to 2135 N. Milwaukee Avenue but there is no shortage of breathtaking sites from virtually every seat in the house and the acoustics let you hear every note both loud and clear. Skybox suites at the Congress Theatre have flat screen LCD televisions, full bar, lounge and DJ area with catering and bottle service options. Balcony seating allows for meet and greet occasions and has bar style seating that is both comfortable and spacious.

Wireless Internet access, phone lines, ATM, bar, coat check service, concessions and snack bar welcome you in the Entrance Pavilion of the Congress Theatre. Independent productions, private events and international entertainment are all presented at the Congress Theatre. Proximity to the I-90/94 expressway is just a few blocks away, along with access to several train lines. A delightful variety of social and ethnic communities are also at home in the area where the Congress Theatre resides, making it possible to spend a great deal of time taking in a show and many other surrounding local interests.

The Double Door venue has a short history when compared to the Congress Theatre but there's no shortage of notable acts that have performed at Double Door since its opening more than 15 years ago. From The Rolling Stones to Daughtry, Maroon 5 to The Killers, The Roots and Anthrax, this premier club has hosted many fantastic artists of local and national acclaim. As a recognized name in the music industry, Double Door welcomes new talent on all record labels so if you're looking to get your band noticed, this is a good place to go.

Double Door is a club for adults only and you must be 21 or older to enjoy the fun. But once inside, whether you want to head straight to the basement bar called The Dirtroom or kick back in a private party in the main bar, the choices are available. Live recordings, parties, private staff events and more are all possible at the Double Door. Have a party for a small group of around 70 or pack the house with 300 people, either way a good time can be had by all. Security, bar staff, production staff, main stage, sound and lights are all included in the main bar rental package.

Located at 1572 N. Milwaukee Avenue, you can reach Double Door by public transportation options that include the L Blue Line train or several bus options along with taxicab service. Double Door is also easily accessible from the north and south via I-90/94. There is no designated parking lot for the club but there is nearby parking on Milwaukee Avenue or by valet services available from nearby establishments. Check out the coming attractions and getaway to Double Door soon. You'll be glad that you did.
